2/2 Space
September 19 septembrie – October 27, 2019
Organised by Minitremu Association and the Târgu Mureș ARTeast Foundation, hosted by Spaţiul 2/2
Opening reception: Thursday, September 19 septembrie, 5 PM
The exhibition is a short retrospective of the four editions of contemporary art camp Minitremu, with a focus on its visual results, and is a Timișoara Art Encounters Biennale collateral event.
Minitremu Art Camp is an itinerant lab-camp designed to create both aesthetic and life-changing experiences. Year in and year out, the project has managed to bring together the creative forces of various contemporary artists and students from vocational schools and high-schools in Romania, Moldova and Hungary who had conversations, made presentations and took part, in workshops and practical exercises through various themes such as drawing, photography, installation art, performance, film, fashion and design. The activities were planned together with the artists invited and they had a strong connection to their interests through intuitive, open pedagogy which encouraged dialogue, reflection, research and teamwork. Current topics such as critical thinking, tolerance and friendship were the most frequently-used learning tools to understand and relate to the world today.
The results of the four editions that took place in Mitresti, Sacadat, Targu Mures and Gurghiu (Mures) are drawings, videos and video-performances, photos, artist books, documentary photography, etc. Yet, the most valuable things are not the ones that the students and artists left behind, but what they took with them for the future.
