Marius Cornea
Marius CORNEA (born 1978) is a curator at the Museum of Banat in Timișoara. He has studied history, art history and Germanic studies and has been awarded scholarships in Florence (Roberto Longhi scholarship, Fondazione di Studi di Storia dell’Arte Roberto Longhi, 2005-2006), Venice (Nicolae Iorga scholarship, Istituto Romeno di Cultura e Ricerca Umanistica, 2006-2008), Amsterdam (Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie Den Haag), the Amsterdam/Maastricht Summer University (AMSU, 2009) and Rome (Accademia di Romania, 2016-2017). He is a specialist in the history of Italian painting during the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries. He is the author of the general catalogue for Timișoara Art Museum’s collection of European paintings of the fifteenth to twentieth centuries (2012).
