15:00 — 16:30 Collective Reading with Ana Bilbao

Ambasada

Session in English

This session will focus on the reading of the text Around the Tree: Notes on Gülsün Karamustafa’s Jail Experience and its Resonances with Argentinian Cultural Production by Argentinian scholar Ana Longoni. The text, published in issue 47 of Afterall journal, offers a distinctive cross cultural perspective that will be explored, analysed and contextualised during the session. Drawing on ideas of sisterhood and solidarity, the aim of this collective reading is to reflect on shared gestures of care in the midst of terror in two different geographical locations. The session will be preceded by a screening and Q&A with the artist Gülsün Karamustafa.
