Contrasens Cultural Association

Contrasens Cultural Association is a nonprofit organisation funded in 2015 in Timișoara that defines art and culture as critical resources in developing an inclusive, participatory and creative society. Contrasens promotes art as a fundamental space for developing the community and the citizens and is committed to promoting contemporary culture through supporting and developing cultural mediation projects, interdisciplinary projects in the field of visual arts and publishing that document the work of contemporary artists from the region of Banat. Through mediation and education through cultural interventions, through training and mentoring of a new generation of cultural managers and professionalised cultural journalists and through research, Contrasens is engaged in experimenting in the field of contemporary art theories and practices and investing in the development of a cultural space that remains fertile for dialogue, critical thinking and debate.
